Chocolate Bhutlah “CHS”
These original seeds were acquired from a source a couple years ago I have come to find to be very deceitful… Trying to cash in on a name… They also sold me seeds that didnt grow true to what I ordered (CHS!) Not only do they only post good reviews and hide iffy ones,as none of my reviews were posted and i am a verified buyer, but I’m convinced their not THE Chocolate Bhutlahs… Maybe nothing more than Black Nagas and/or Chocolate Bhut Jolokias, both which they had listed till the Bhutlah became popular and they vanished from the site and suddenly the had the Bhutlahs no one else had… They call them Chocolate Bhutlahs and they are killer hot and delicious, but I dont believe they are the real deal. As of now they are the only version I have until this next grow season at which point I will rename these entirely. Just being honest to what i believe here… This season coming will bring new and better… Ill decide on a new name or keeping it “CHS” this coming season after experiencing the real deal for comparison…
The Chocolate Bhutlah is a strain of chile peppper, originally created by Chad Soleski. The variety was made by accident, via an unintentional cross-pollination. The mother plant was the Red Bhutlah, which is a cross between the Trinidad Douglah, and Bhut Jolokia. Chad Soleski gave those cross-pollinated seeds for the Red Bhutlah to Steven McLaurin, who grew them out and discover the chocolate colored pods. A large specimen was sent to, and reviewed by, Ted Barrus, which caused a sensation in the chile pepper community, that it could be the next hottest pepper in the world.
It’s Scoville rating has not been determined, but chile reviewers have said that it is hotter than the Carolina Reaper at over 2 million SHU. It is a large chile, typically has a blistered exterior, and has a floral taste.
